Terms of Use

Powder Burn Noir, published by Firestorm Interactive · Last updated 10 October 2026

These terms cover the Powder Burn Noir app. Like the privacy policy, they are written in plain words so they can actually be read.

The short version: your first case is free. You can buy cases one at a time and keep them, or subscribe and play everything while your subscription is active. Payments, renewals and refunds are handled by Apple. If a subscription ends, the cases you didn't buy are locked, not deleted, and they come back if you subscribe again.

The licence

The app is licensed to you, not sold, under Apple's Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement. That agreement is the licence for the app. These terms add the details that are particular to Powder Burn Noir, and where the two differ, Apple's agreement applies.

What you can get

Your first case

One case comes with the app, free. It is yours to play as often as you like, and it stays with the app if you delete and reinstall it.

Buying cases

Subscribing

A subscription opens every case in the app while it is active: the cases the game launched with, each month's new case, and new cases as they are added. Whatever you have bought stays yours whether you subscribe or not.

How subscriptions work

Subscriptions are available monthly or yearly. The price and the length of each plan are shown in the app before you confirm, in your own currency.

When a subscription ends

Every case you didn't buy outright is locked. Nothing is deleted: locked cases stay in the app, and they open again if you subscribe again. Cases you bought, and your free first case, are not affected.

The reason is simple. Every game sends what you say to our server so the suspects can answer, and that costs us money each time. A subscription pays for that. A case you bought paid for its own.

Refunds

All purchases are made through the App Store, so refunds are handled by Apple under Apple's rules, not by us. You can request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. If something in the game has gone wrong, write to us as well, and we will do what we can.

Playing the game

Changes to the game

We will keep improving the game, and that can mean changing how it plays, fixing cases, or retiring a feature. Cases you bought, or have access to through a subscription, stay playable for as long as the game is offered. If the service ever had to end, we would say so in the app and to the mailing list well in advance.

If these terms change in a way that matters, the date at the top changes with it, and the app will tell you before a change affects anything you have paid for.

Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under the consumer law where you live.

Privacy

What the game sends, and what we keep, is set out in the privacy policy.
